It has been a big week for RE. There has been much to think about. Tom Bennett’s TES article has it right that we need good RE. This has become blatantly obvious to everyone in the wake of the Paris attacks. My own reflection on teaching RE post Paris has received more views than anything else I’ve written.  

Yet RE teaching is in a strange and critical place. There is controversy and argument about what is the nature of true RE. Is it to raise ultimate philosophical questions or is it to raise religious literacy and aid mutual understanding? In my forthcoming UKEdchat magazine article I…
